Why hello there!

It’s been way to long since my last update, and I apologize.
It feels like lots of stuff has happened since my last post, but at the same time… it doesn’t.

Time has mostly been spent working on some of my personal side projects
but it also includes me getting sick for 3 weeks, and then hospitalized for a short while.
(Fun, right?)

But no worries!
I’m 100% better now!
(Though it’s slightly disconcerting that the doctors weren’t able to pinpoint what exactly was wrong with me)

Anyways.

The illustration above is something that I finished very recently!
(I actually doodled this image in a sketchbook while I was in the hospital.)

I hope to get back into the groove of things again, and start illustrating!

Thank you always for all your support and love :)

Registered Nurse Journal

Sunday, July 31st, 2011

This was an illustration that I did for the Registered Nurse Journal about a student who wrote an assignment during high school regarding her ambitions to be a nurse and where it would lead to in the future.

Thanks to Kyle Schruder for the assignment! :)

Perennial roots

For this week’s Illustration Friday word: Perennial

Perennial flowers are able to come back every year due to their roots :)

This image took some time….
Whenever I do an illustration, I usually have everything planned out (what colours go where, which fabric or paper to use for what parts, which areas should be cutout etc) but sometimes things don’t go quite as I imagined, and I would have to either redo everything… or just wing it.
Which is what I kind of ended up doing with this one.

oarfish trainer

Sunday, May 1st, 2011

As some of you may remember (or if you just scroll down to the post), I finally got around to finishing this picture!
(Wow, did I really post that sketch in February??? Time goes by crazy fast…)

The girl is actually based off of myself.
I found a picture of my sister and I when we were kids, and ended up really liking the pose.
That, along with the fact that oarfish are pretty awesome, compelled me to create this image! :)
